As Wikipedia states: Spruce Woods Provincial Park is located in south-central Manitoba, Canada where the Assiniboine River passes through the delta of sediment left by the last glaciation.[2] An area of open and stabilized sand dunes within the park provides habitat to species of plants and animals not found elsewhere in Manitoba.
As I state ;-) : It's a very special place, and if you go which I recommend, don't even try to keep sand out of your footwear! The oasis-like Devil's Punch Bowl's ice cold water is fed from subterranean springs.
